Spurring Gender-Balanced Leadership Roles
Winning businesses have a solid leadership team as their foundation. A team that has the right mix of men and women in key roles will invariably offer the right aptitude, characteristics and diversity of perspective. Teams with an equal gender representation manage to deliver better outcomes than those which are male-dominated. Yet, if we look at the global numbers, female inclusivity in top-level leadership is significantly lower than what anyone should settle for. As per the findings of a survey by ILO Bureau for Employers’ Activities (ACT/EMP) published in the global report on ‘Women in Business and Management: Gaining Momentum’, there are several barriers prevalent that cause impediments to women’s growth in leadership roles.
